The Buffalo City Maritime Cluster (BCMC) is a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC) formed to drive inclusive, coordinated, and sustainable growth in the maritime industry across Buffalo City and the broader Eastern Cape.

Launched after the landmark 2016 Eastern Cape Maritime Conference, BCMC is the result of a united call by industry leaders, public officials, and academic institutions to establish a collaborative platform that integrates policy and action. BCMC’s mandate is to unlock the full potential of Buffalo City’s maritime assets — including its port infrastructure, coastal location, and skilled population — by creating strategic linkages, driving skills development, supporting enterprise growth, and enhancing investment readiness.
